Welcome aboard! The Sea Stallion from Glendalough<\/em> tells the story of one of the most ambitious experiments in modern Viking ship research. The book takes the reader on board the reconstructed longship Sea Stallion, built as a full-scale replica of the Skuldelev 2 find. <\/p>\n

Text and images document the construction of the ship, the voyage and the experiences from the practical use of Viking Age maritime technology. The book provides insight into the choice of materials, craftsmanship, seaworthiness and life on board, and links experimental archaeology with historical knowledge. <\/p>\n
