The publication sets out international rules for the safe transportation of dangerous goods by sea and is used by maritime operators, shipping companies, terminals, ports and logistics providers worldwide. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1351\">The IMDG Code is designed to reduce the risk of accidents, fire, explosions and environmental damage when transporting dangerous goods on board ships.  <strong data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1351\">The regulations are mandatory under the SOLAS Convention and are a key part of international maritime safety and compliance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1353\" data-end=\"1670\">The publication contains detailed requirements for classification, identification, packaging, marking, labeling, documentation, stowage and segregation of dangerous goods.
