Condition Assessment Scheme (CAS), 2005 Edition<\/strong> is the official IMO publication containing the regulations for the Condition Assessment Scheme (CAS)<\/em>. The scheme was developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as a supplement to the ordinary class surveys for certain categories of oil tankers. <\/p>\n

The purpose of CAS is to provide a more comprehensive and transparent assessment of the vessel’s structural condition than is normally achieved through standard inspection programs.
