Warm sleeping comfort for cold nights<\/h2>\n

Gr\u00fcezi Bag DownWool Ice 2.0 is designed for trips where temperatures fall well below freezing and you need significantly more warmth than a conventional three-season sleeping bag can provide. With a comfort temperature of \u22126 \u00b0C<\/strong>, it is designed for cold nights from autumn through spring, while DownWool\u00ae insulation helps maintain a comfortable sleeping climate as temperature and humidity change.<\/p>\n

Ice 2.0 is an excellent choice for winter hiking, trekking, camping and other cold-weather adventures<\/strong> when you need high insulation performance without moving up to the weight and bulk of an expedition sleeping bag.<\/p>\n

Down + wool \u2013 why DownWool\u00ae?<\/h3>\n

DownWool\u00ae 2.0 combines 70% down with 30% wool.<\/strong> The down provides excellent insulation with relatively little weight and pack volume, while the wool helps regulate both temperature and moisture inside the sleeping bag.<\/p>\n

This becomes particularly valuable in cold conditions. Your body releases moisture throughout the night, and increasing humidity can reduce the insulating performance of conventional down. The wool in DownWool\u00ae helps create a more balanced microclimate and makes the insulation less sensitive to humid conditions.<\/p>\n

In practical terms, this means a more stable and comfortable sleeping climate throughout the night<\/strong> \u2013 even as temperature and humidity change.<\/p>\n

For winter and cold conditions<\/h3>\n

DownWool Ice 2.0 is tested according to EN ISO 23537-1 with a comfort temperature of \u22126 \u00b0C, a limit temperature of \u221212 \u00b0C and an extreme temperature of \u221233 \u00b0C<\/strong>. Gr\u00fcezi Bag recommends an operating range of \u22126 to +15 \u00b0C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The comfort temperature is the most useful reference point when choosing a sleeping bag for normal use. The limit temperature represents a lower temperature at which a standard adult male can still be expected to remain warm in a curled sleeping position. The extreme temperature is a survival-related safety rating and should not be used as a target temperature for normal sleeping conditions.<\/p>\n

Individual sensitivity to cold varies considerably. If you tend to feel the cold, or are travelling in conditions where temperatures can fall rapidly, always allow an additional temperature margin. Your sleeping mat, clothing, wind, humidity, food intake and fatigue can also affect how warm you feel during the night.<\/p>\n

Designed to reduce heat loss<\/h3>\n

Ice 2.0 features a 3D thermal collar<\/strong> that helps retain warm air inside the sleeping bag and reduce heat loss around the neck and zip area. The collar also closes around the zip area to help minimise cold spots.<\/p>\n

The adjustable hood with Face Baffle<\/strong> can be drawn closely around the head as temperatures fall, leaving only a small opening around the face. A dedicated pocket keeps the thermal collar drawstrings neatly out of the way during the night.<\/p>\n

An insulated zip baffle running alongside the two-way zip further reduces heat loss and helps minimise cold spots along the side of the sleeping bag.<\/p>\n

More room for better sleeping comfort<\/h3>\n

Gr\u00fcezi Bag places considerable emphasis on ensuring that a sleeping bag does not feel unnecessarily restrictive. More space around the body makes it easier to move and turn inside the sleeping bag<\/strong>, rather than having the whole bag move with you as you change sleeping position.<\/p>\n

This is not only about comfort. If a sleeping bag fits too tightly, the body can compress the insulation. As the loft is reduced, its ability to retain warmth can also be reduced.<\/p>\n

This becomes particularly relevant in a winter sleeping bag, where the insulation needs to retain its volume throughout the night. For this reason, temperature ratings and weight should not be considered in isolation. A small difference in weight can also reflect a roomier cut and more usable space around the body.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ice 2.0 is available in three sizes with different overall lengths, shoulder widths and foot widths, allowing you to choose a size that suits both your height and the amount of room you prefer.<\/p>\n

Comfort and ventilation across changing temperatures<\/h3>\n

Even a warm sleeping bag needs effective ventilation. Gr\u00fcezi Bag’s foot ventilation system<\/strong> allows excess heat to escape \u2013 or your feet to rest outside the bag \u2013 without having to open the entire sleeping bag.<\/p>\n

The pre-shaped footbox provides plenty of room for your feet and toes, while the multi-chamber construction around the foot area helps maintain even insulation in one of the areas most susceptible to feeling cold.<\/p>\n

Ice 2.0 also features internal and external pockets for small essentials, a two-way Auto-Lock zip with anti-snag protection and a practical pillow pocket<\/strong> that can be filled with a fleece jacket or other soft clothing to create a comfortable pillow.<\/p>\n

Choose the right size<\/h3>\n

DownWool Ice 2.0 is available in Regular, Long and Extra Long<\/strong>, allowing you to choose a sleeping bag according to both your height and the amount of room you want around the body.<\/p>\n

Regular<\/strong> is recommended for body heights up to 175 cm and has an overall sleeping bag length of 200 cm, a shoulder width of 77 cm and a foot width of 50 cm.<\/p>\n

Long<\/strong> is recommended for body heights up to 185 cm and has an overall sleeping bag length of 215 cm, a shoulder width of 80 cm and a foot width of 50 cm.<\/p>\n

Extra Long<\/strong> is recommended for body heights up to 200 cm and has an overall sleeping bag length of 230 cm, a shoulder width of 85 cm and a foot width of 60 cm.<\/p>\n

If you are close to the upper end of a size range and prefer additional freedom of movement, you may want to consider the next size up. At the same time, the sleeping bag should not be unnecessarily large, as a greater internal volume means more air for your body to warm.<\/p>\n

Choosing the right size is therefore a balance between freedom of movement, enough room for the insulation to retain its loft and avoiding unnecessary internal volume.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recycled materials and DownWool\u00ae 2.0<\/h3>\n

The outer and inner fabrics are made from 100% recycled 20D 380T nylon<\/strong>. The material is lightweight and breathable while also being wind- and water-resistant.<\/p>\n

DownWool\u00ae 2.0 insulation consists of 70% duck down and 30% mechanically processed wool<\/strong>. The 90\/10 down has a fill power of 700+ cuin. Regular contains approximately 652 g of DownWool\u00ae, Long approximately 789 g and Extra Long approximately 950 g.<\/p>\n
