Kart.no is a Norwegian online store for maps, nautical charts, and navigation products. The website is backed by Navigasjonsbutikken Kart.no AS – a professional environment that works with map data and cartography, develops solutions for map design, and produces physical maps.

The online store serves outdoor enthusiasts, boaters, and professional users alike.

We supply to private individuals, outdoor enthusiasts, and boaters – as well as to businesses and professional users who require reliable maps and nautical publications.

A Place for Maps and Navigation

We ourselves work with map data, map design, and the production of paper maps. The maps we produce are based on updated geodata from, among others, Kartverket (the Norwegian Mapping Authority) and international map providers.

We supply maps and nautical publications for waters worldwide, and collaborate with official mapping authorities in the Nordic countries. Kart.no is also a reseller of publications from the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

In 2026, we brought together three established online stores and product areas into one common shopping experience: Kartbutikken.no, Navigasjonsbutikken / Nautiskfritid.no, and Kart.no. The goal is to make it easier to navigate a large assortment, with one customer service and one logistics system.

A Proud Nautical History

Navigasjonsbutikken AS was established in 2012 by Tore Myrvang and Jan B. Stockfleth when Nautisk Forlag AS sold its department for sales to recreational boat customers.

The company continued the expertise from the professional environment at Nautisk Forlag and built upon many years of experience with nautical publications and navigation.

The online store nautiskfritid.no was launched in 2012 and has since served recreational boat owners and professional users along the Norwegian coast.

Already in 2013, the company started production of Print-on-Demand nautical charts based on data from Kartverket, and was among the first independent players in Norway in this field.

In 2025, Navigasjonsbutikken AS merged with Kart.no AS. Through the merger, a specialized assortment of nautical charts, nautical publications, and navigation products is continued – an offering that for many years has been important for both recreational boats and professional users along the Norwegian coast.

Today, Kart.no also collaborates with several official mapping authorities in the Nordic countries and internationally. From 2026, we are a Print-on-Demand supplier of nautical charts for the Danish Geodata Agency (Geodatastyrelsen), with maps for Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland.

We are also a reseller of nautical publications from Sjöfartsverket in Sweden, Traficom in Finland, and the Norwegian Polar Institute.

We also supply Admiralty products from the UK Hydrographic Office in collaboration with StormGeo.

Kartbutikken.no – A Part of History

Kartbutikken.no was established by Nordeca (now Nordic Maps) and has for over 20 years been one of Norway’s most well-known online stores for hiking maps, boating charts, and map books.

In 2026, Navigasjonsbutikken Kart.no AS took over the online store Kartbutikken.no and the direct sale of maps to private customers from Nordic Maps. Simultaneously, Kartbutikken.no became part of Kart.no.

Through the acquisition, both the assortment and a large customer base interested in maps are continued, and the well-known maps from Nordic Maps are still a central part of Kart.no’s offering.

Personalized Maps – Produced in Norway

Kart.no produces personalized maps – tailored to a place, a trip, a memory, or an occasion.

The maps are produced in our own print studio in Norway and can be delivered ready framed. This gives us full control over quality, materials, and delivery time.

Environment and Production

Kart.no is Eco-Lighthouse certified.

The maps we produce are printed locally in Norway with water-based ink on quality materials from European manufacturers with environmentally certified production.
