MARPOL Consolidated Edition (2022) is the official publication from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that compiles the entire MARPOL Convention with all current annexes and amendments. The Convention is the most important international regulatory framework for preventing pollution from ships and constitutes a central framework for environmental protection in global shipping.
MARPOL stands for International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships and regulates emissions of pollutants from ships. The regulations cover, among other things, oil discharges, harmful liquid substances, hazardous chemicals in packaged form, sewage, waste, and air pollution from ships.
The consolidated 2022 edition compiles all current annexes to the Convention in one publication. This includes Annex I through Annex VI, which cover oil, harmful liquid substances in bulk, hazardous substances in packaged form, sewage, garbage, and air pollution, respectively.
