Description
The Nautical Almanac 2027 (NP314) is ADMIRALTY’s annual reference work for celestial navigation at sea. The book provides tabulated positions for the sun, moon, navigational planets, and stars, for use in position fixing with a sextant.
The almanac is used in conjunction with sextant observations and contains information to help the navigator plan observations and calculate daylight. Here you will find times for sunrise, sunset, twilight, moonrise, and moonset, as well as moon phases and information on solar and lunar eclipses.
The book also contains interpolation and altitude correction tables, tables for the Pole Star, and guidance for identifying stars and planets. A concise set of tables and forms for the reduction of sextant observations is included, along with information on standard time in various countries and a supplement on astronomical conditions in polar regions.
The year-specific astronomical data applies to the 2027 calendar year. Select the almanac for the year in which the observations are to be carried out.
