The trips cover the municipalities of Gulen, Solund, Hyllestad, Fjaler, Askvoll, Flora, Bremanger, Vågsøy, and Selje. The bike tours are organized into a continuous route from south to north, with detours to several of the islands and the option to combine the tours with ferries and scheduled boats.
All the hikes are presented with maps and aerial photos showing the marked routes, along with detailed descriptions, difficulty levels, distances, and estimated time requirements. The book shows exactly where the hikes start and how the routes proceed, making it a practical resource both during planning and out on the trail.
*Opptur Ytre Sogn og Fjordane* was written by Torkjell Djupedal, a journalist, publisher, and author from Førde. He knows Western Norway very well and has written a number of books on outdoor life, cultural history, and several titles in the popular Opptur series.
