The area also has a rich cultural history. As early as 1888, the Swedish Tourist Association established its first mountain cabin here, along the historic trail between Kvikkjokk and Sulitelma. He is also the author of the popular guidebooks *Mountain Hiking Along the Kungsleden*, *Mountain Hiking in Sarek*, *Mountain Hiking Around Kebnekaise, Abisko, and Riksgränsen*, and several guides to the Nordkalottleden.
