The Maritime Manual is ITU’s reference publication for the maritime mobile and maritime mobile-satellite services. It brings together essential information on maritime radiocommunications and GMDSS.
Volume 1 covers the organisation and procedures of maritime radio services, including distress, urgency and safety communications. Volume 2 contains relevant extracts from the Radio Regulations and other regulatory texts. The 2024 edition is a working reference for radio operators, masters, shipping companies and maritime training providers.
This edition is supplied as a digital licence. The publication is downloaded and installed on Windows 10 or 11. Initial registration and internet access are required for activation. Once activated, the publication can be used offline. Updates are obtained online.
