The manual is relevant to commercial vessels under 24 metres operating at sea, dedicated pilot boats of any size, vessels carrying cargo or up to 12 passengers and/or industrial personnel, UK vessels operating worldwide, and non-UK vessels operating in UK waters.
Workboat Code 3 also covers remotely operated unmanned vessels where the keel was laid after 13 December 2023.
The manual includes the required explanations and procedures relating to Life-Saving Appliances (LSA) and is intended as an onboard resource for crew, skippers, vessel managers, safety officers and operators.
