Description
Turkart Kåfjord covers parts of Nord-Troms with a focus on Kåfjord and surrounding areas. Developed in collaboration with Nord-Troms Friluftsråd, the map provides an overview of a landscape characterized by fjords, valleys, mountains and coastal areas. The region offers varied hiking opportunities throughout the year, from coastal trails to longer hikes in high mountains and wide open spaces.
The map shows trails, terrain, water and key outdoor areas in the municipalities of Kvænangen, Kåfjord, Nordreisa and Skjervøy. It provides a good basis for planning both short local trips and longer hikes in an area with large distances and varied nature. The terrain information provides a clear representation of contours and landscapes, which is particularly useful in open and weather-prone terrain.
The map is at a scale of 1:50,000, which is the most common scale for longer trips. At this scale, 2 cm on the map corresponds to 1 km in the terrain. This provides a good balance between detail and overview of larger areas.
