IMO Model Course 1.46 – Advanced Training for Ships Subject to the IGF Code, 2019 Edition is the official IMO publication for advanced training of seafarers working on ships subject to the International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code). The publication has been developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to support the requirements of the STCW Convention related to specialized competence in alternative marine fuels.
The increasing use of LNG and other low-flame point fuels places high demands on the expertise of officers and other key personnel. This training is designed for personnel with operational responsibility for fuel systems, safe operation and handling potential emergencies on board.
