Description
Turkart Jostedalsbreen & Breheimen covers the entire Jostedalsbreen and Breheimen National Park, with map sections on both the front and back. The map provides an overview of a varied high mountain area with glaciers, mountain peaks, valleys and large continuous hiking areas.
Trails in the area have been reviewed and corrected using detailed aerial photographs and terrain data. The map shows both established and lesser-used routes, as well as cabins run by DNT and other operators. Marked summer and winter routes are clearly marked, and groomed ski trails are shown where relevant. The terrain information provides a precise representation of contours, water and landscapes, making the map suitable for both short hikes and longer expeditions in the high mountains.
The map is at a scale of 1:50,000, which is the most common scale for longer mountain hikes. At this scale, 2 cm on the map corresponds to 1 km in the terrain. This provides a good balance between level of detail and overview of large areas.
