Grüezi Bag DownWool Extreme Light 2.0 is designed for trips where low weight and minimal pack size really matter. It combines an exceptionally low weight with Grüezi Bag’s signature DownWool® 2.0 insulation, making it particularly well suited to summer hiking, trekking, bikepacking and other lightweight adventures.

Rather than choosing between down and wool, DownWool® combines the strengths of both materials.

Down + wool – why DownWool®?

Down is an exceptionally efficient insulating material: lightweight, highly compressible and capable of providing excellent warmth for very little weight. Conditions inside a sleeping bag, however, can change considerably throughout the night as temperature and humidity fluctuate.

This is where wool makes the difference.

DownWool® 2.0 combines 70% down with 30% wool. The down provides excellent insulation with very little weight and pack volume, while the wool helps regulate both temperature and moisture. The result is a more balanced microclimate inside the sleeping bag.

In practical terms, this means a more stable and comfortable sleeping climate throughout the night, particularly as temperature and humidity change.

Designed for minimum weight and pack size

Extreme Light 2.0 is designed specifically for trips where every gram and litre of pack space matters. Its low weight and remarkably small packed size make it an excellent choice when you carry all your own equipment and want to keep your pack as light and compact as possible.

This makes Extreme Light 2.0 particularly well suited to trekking, bikepacking, long-distance hiking and lightweight summer adventures.

Once compressed, the sleeping bag takes up remarkably little space, leaving more room in your pack for the rest of your equipment.

More room for better sleeping comfort

Low weight is important in a sleeping bag such as Extreme Light 2.0, but Grüezi Bag also places considerable emphasis on giving the body enough space inside the bag.

Extra room makes it easier to move and turn inside the sleeping bag, rather than having the whole bag move with you when you change sleeping position. This can make a noticeable difference to sleeping comfort during the night.

The fit can also affect insulation performance. If a sleeping bag is too tight, the body can compress the insulation and reduce the loft that helps retain warmth.

For this reason, the lowest possible weight does not necessarily tell the whole story when comparing sleeping bags. A small difference in weight can also reflect a roomier cut and more space around the body.

Extreme Light 2.0 is available in three sizes with different overall lengths, shoulder widths and foot widths, allowing you to choose a size that suits both your height and the amount of room you prefer.

Thoughtful details without unnecessary weight

Despite its uncompromising focus on weight, Extreme Light 2.0 retains the practical details that matter on the trail. The adjustable hood, two-way zip and pre-shaped footbox are designed to provide comfort and functionality without adding unnecessary weight.

Grüezi Bag’s foot ventilation system allows excess heat to escape – or your feet to rest outside the bag – without having to open the entire sleeping bag. Feater loops also allow Grüezi Bag’s optional foot-warming system to be attached when required.

Choose the right size

Extreme Light 2.0 is available in Regular, Long and Extra Long, allowing you to choose a sleeping bag that matches your height rather than relying on a single universal length.

Regular is recommended for body heights up to 175 cm and has an overall sleeping bag length of 200 cm, a shoulder width of 77 cm and a foot width of 50 cm.

Long is recommended for body heights up to 185 cm and has an overall sleeping bag length of 215 cm, a shoulder width of 80 cm and a foot width of 50 cm.

Extra Long is recommended for body heights up to 200 cm and has an overall sleeping bag length of 230 cm, a shoulder width of 85 cm and a foot width of 60 cm.

Choosing the right size matters. An unnecessarily large sleeping bag contains more material and more air for your body to warm, while a bag that is too short or too tight can reduce freedom of movement and compress the insulation.
