Description
NV Charts France FR2 Cherbourg-St. Malo is a comprehensive chart package of paper and digital charts covering the coastline from Cherbourg via Normandy and Brittany to Saint-Malo, including the waters around the English Channel Islands. With its varied waters, historic ports, strong tidal currents and exciting sailing opportunities, this area requires detailed navigation data for safe and secure navigation.
The chart package contains overview and passage charts that provide the basis for planning longer voyages. This includes the map France – Atlantique in scale 1:1,750,000 and Normandie – Ouest in 1:350,000 for a good overview of large parts of the coast and the English Channel.
More specific coastal maps at scales such as 1:150,000 and 1:60,000 cover important segments of the coastline, such as stretches from Cap Fréhel to Jersey, both sides of the Channel Islands, the approaches to Saint-Cast and Saint-Malo, the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel, Granville and the Minquiers Plateau areas. These charts provide detailed coastal information for near-shore planning and navigation.
For precise navigation in ports, harbors and narrow waters, the atlas includes a selection of detailed maps at larger scales. These include charts for Alderney – Braye Bay at 1:15,000, Saint-Malo at 1:20,000, La Rance River at 1:20,000, the small islands of Chausey at 1:25,000, Cancale at 1:20,000, Granville at 1:15,000, Diélette at 1:10,000, as well as detailed harbor and port of call charts for Jersey and Guernsey with adjacent straits and waters.
The chart package is delivered in a convenient atlas format combined with digital access through the NV Charts app and for PC/Mac. The digital charts can be used offline and provide access to up-to-date navigation data, harbor plans and tide tables directly on board, allowing you to plan and execute your voyage with greater safety and control.
