Wempe
maritime instruments
German precision. Maritime tradition.
Maritime instruments from Wempe. Made for life on board – and for those who want to bring a little maritime tradition home.
Before satellites,
there was precision.
At sea, accurate time was essential for determining longitude. The watchmaker’s precision and the navigator’s skill went hand in hand.
Chronometerwerke was founded in Hamburg in 1905. When Wempe acquired the company in 1938, maritime instrument making became part of its own watchmaking tradition.
That heritage lives on in ship’s clocks, barometers, comfortmeters and chronometers. Instruments with a clear purpose – and a design equally at home in a yacht’s saloon or a maritime interior.

What would you like to keep track of?
A beautiful instrument should be useful, too. Choose the functions that matter to you, and combine instruments from the same series for a coordinated set.
Ship’s clock
A distinctive focal point that tells the time. Roman numerals create a traditional look, while Arabic numerals offer a different character and readability. Some models feature Radio Room markings or a striking mechanism.
Barometer
Shows atmospheric pressure. Following changes over time gives a useful indication of developing weather conditions – both on board and at home.
Comfortmeter
Combines a thermometer and hygrometer to show temperature and relative humidity. A natural companion to a clock and barometer.
Maritime precision.
A more technical look.
Black dials, clear markings and understated design. Explore alternatives to the traditional brass clock – from Navigator II’s distinctive black case to Pilot III’s compact steel housing.
Navigator II
130 mm instruments in black aluminium. Choose a ship’s clock or a combined barometer, thermometer and hygrometer.
Pilot III
100 mm instruments in polished stainless steel, with black dials and clear, light-coloured markings. A compact, modern alternative.
