About I.C. Brindle
I.C. Brindle & Co. is a British supplier of maritime safety equipment and publications, established in 1994. Its publication range includes SOLAS LSA and Fire Training Manuals, coded vessel manuals and inspection checklists.
The manuals combine illustrated explanations of equipment with practical procedures. They serve as working references for crew familiarisation, safety training and everyday onboard use.
Make the manual specific to the vessel
The standard training manuals provide generic information and a section for vessel-specific details. Operators complete this with the equipment, locations and procedures used on the actual vessel.
A purchased manual is therefore a starting point for the vessel’s own documentation. Keep it consistent with the onboard equipment, safety management system and crew training.

Do I need both the Fire and LSA manual?
They cover different subjects: firefighting and fire safety in one, life-saving appliances and survival in the other. Check which training documentation the vessel is required to carry.
Is the SOLAS Checklist a training manual?
No. It supports scheduled inspections and recording of LSA and FFE checks. It complements the training manuals.
Are the manuals supplied in Norwegian?
The editions presented here are in English. Check the individual product page for the supplied language.
Can I use a UK Workboat Code manual on any workboat?
It is written for a specific UK Code. Vessel type alone does not establish suitability; check the applicable flag and code requirements.
